QUINDIO 

The Quindío is one of the 32 departments of Colombia. It is found in the west-central region of the country. Its capital is Armenia. It is located in the Andean region, is part of the Coffee and Coffee region, which is evident when visiting one of the most attractive parks in Colombia, the Coffee Park. It limits the north with Risaralda, by the south and the east with Tolima, the west with Valley of the Cauca.

This region, being located in an intermediate point between the east and west of Colombia, became a obligatory route of the personages of that time. In the 19th century the Antioquian colonization reached what was called Old Caldas and other sectors such as the north of Tolima and the Valley, where several settlements are established that over time became large cities, such was the case Of the city of Armenia, founded the 14 of October of 1889. In this process of colonization is founded the majority of the municipalities of the department.
